INDIANA POLICE SEEK MAN WHO STOLE SQUAD CAR
INDIANAPOLIS (Reuters) – An Indiana man who managed to steal a squad automobile whilst handcuffed remained at vast on Thursday, two days after he was pulled over and a day after the automobile was found, police said.
William Blankenship, 22, stole a Kouts Police Department squad automobile after a traffic detain on Tuesday, police allege. Blankenship had been pulled over for speeding, and police reported saying drug outfit in his car.
The suspect was handcuffed and put in the behind of the patrol automobile whilst an officer checked his vehicle. Blankenship afterwards took off with the patrol car, which was found in a influence pool Wednesday, police say.
“We recovered the automobile and the weapons in it, so right away it will just be perplexing to find him,” pronounced Porter County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Larry LaFlower. LaFlower pronounced he didn’t know if Blankenship was still in the area.
