EXPORTS BOOST UK CAR PRODUCTION

Car production in the UK rose by 5.8% in 2011, industry figures show.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) pronounced manufacturing had finished the year with a 1.6% rise in December, producing a total of 1,343,810 vehicles in the year.
The SMMT pronounced record exports had been the categorical motorist of growth, with more than 80% of vehicles exported.
Although production rose final year, the SMMT pronounced final week that brand brand brand brand new automobile sales in the UK had depressed 4.4% in 2011.
Engine prolongation also rose by 4.9% to only over 2.5 million, despite a medium 1.3% fall in December.
“UK automobile and engine prolongation continues to lead the prolongation recovery,” pronounced Paul Everitt, arch senior manager of the SMMT.
“It is necessary that industry and government go on to work in partnership to maximize the opportunities at all levels of the UK supply sequence and inspire more investment in research and development, skills and brand brand brand brand new plant and machinery.”
