CAR EXPORTS DOWN FOR DECEMBER
Car exports for December 2011 totaled 35,046 units, down 50.66 per cent on December 2010, Surapong Paisitpattanapong, orator of Automotive Industry Club pronounced on Wednesday.
Car trade worth over the month was 17.05 billion baht, down 42.93 per cent from December 2010, Mr Surapong said.
In 2011, a total of 735,627 cars were exported, down 17.89 per cent on 2010, whilst automobile trade worth totaled 343.38 billion baht, a decrease of 15.14 per cent, he said.
Mr Surapong pronounced automobile outlay in December 2011 was down 27.64 per cent on December 2010, though up 319.61 per cent on November, to 99,426 units.
Domestic automobile sales in December 2011 totaled 54,575 units, an increase of 109 per cent on Nov though down 41.40 per cent on December 2010.
“Car sale volume was up since almost all automobile makers influenced by the good inundate have been able to resume production and delivered systematic cars to clients,” he said.
