CAR CRASH BADLY DAMAGES HISTORIC HOME

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – An early sunrise automobile crash destroyed part of a historic site in Northampton Sunday.
It’s a single of the couple of station monuments left in Northampton. Built in 1753 by the Clapp family it’s the second oldest house in the neighborhood.
“They have chronological events, Yuletide parties, my son used to work here, he did landscaping, we were regularly accessible with the people,” pronounced Jean Perry who lives nearby.
Northampton Police Lt. Jody Casper told 22News 21-year-old John Diemand of Easthampton crashed his automobile into the South Street turning point early Sunday morning.
“There was this police military military officer and he said, do you own a house on South Street and we pronounced no though we do manage and demeanour after a house on South Street and he pronounced a automobile had run through the house,” pronounced Karen Tatro, the residence manager, who got a visit from police prior to long after the accident happened.

“Also people entrance up the mountain which is the citation of the driver, they usually begin to accelerate and usually keep going,” pronounced Elizabeth Parker of Northampton.
Three people were in the automobile at the time of the crash, the driver was taken to Baystate Medical Center and treated with colour for teenager injures. So far, there have been no charges brought opposite him.
The residence is home to the Northampton section of the Daughters of the Revolution society. Tatro told 22News the replacement of ancestral artifacts is costly and it could take time to get back a little of what was mislaid in the crash.
